FUJIFILM X-T5 4K SLOW MOTION JUMPING SPIDER STOCK FOOTAGE

Description

4K Fujifilm X-T5 slow motion footage of a small Jumping Spider perched upon a Bamboo Orchid, retreating from an ant in slow motion.

The Story

The Botanic Gardens in Singapore are a wonder of sight and sound. Everything from Monitor Lizards to bees, spiders, and a plethora of birds, including very colorful roosters, are excellent subjects for video. I spent a couple of days wondering around the gardens during one of my trips, bringing the Fuji X-T5 camera, Sigma 18-50mm Contemporary zoom lens and a Manfrotto MVG300XM gimbal stabilizer. Utilizing the autofocus function on the X-T5, I managed to get some good stock footage, including this slow motion shot of a jumping spider perched upon a Bamboo Orchid, then moving to the other side of the flower in order to avoid an ant. Unfortunately, the autofocus shifted on some of my shots, and I missed some good moments. To autofocus, or not to autofocus… that is the question? Generally, I prefer to focus manually – maybe I’ll bring along a Tilta Nucleus Nano II next time?
