The Story
This was my first setup using the Zeiss CP.2 50mm Macro lens. I had it shipped over from London, England, as I couldn’t find a pristine used version of this lens in North America, and I really couldn’t afford a new one. There was always a great amount of activity in this region of the garden – lots of oregano plants, and bees buzzing around furiously, drinking nectar and gathering pollen. It’s such an important process in life – without it, we really wouldn’t have much to eat on this planet. I bought CP.2 lenses for the Epic-W because they were full frame, with a good number of aperture blades and a nice, clean, looking image. I shot using several different frame rates – in 4K, 6K and 8K… even 1080P, to make use of the higher frame rates. Ultimately, I captured some good stock footage of many a bumble bee, lazily hopping from flower to flower – their pollen baskets laden and ready to pollinate. This is the second of four videos in this series.
