BMPCC 6K PRO SLOW MOTION LOW ANGLE CHERRY BLOSSOM STOCK FOOTAGE
Description
BMPCC 6K Pro slow motion gimbal footage shot at a low angle under a canopy of cherry blossoms, with blue sky in the background.
The Story
Cherry blossom season is beautiful in the Vancouver area – nothing comparable to Japan, but at least we have something to look at in some parts of Canada. I had wanted to shoot some video of the cherry blossoms for a while, but strong winds and heavy rain usually eroded the window of opportunity before I could make it happen. Fortunately, I got the opportunity when the need arose on a documentary series I was editing. This year the weather held, so I grabbed my Manfrotto MVG460 gimbal stabilizer, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and a Tokina 11-16mm Cinema zoom lens, then headed out to a couple of my favorite cherry blossom spots in Port Moody. Cherry blossoms always form a nice canopy overhead, which I thought would be perfect for a slow motion gimbal shot for the series, in addition to my stock footage archive. I did try to avoid any telltale signs of the city, but still ended up with a street lamp in one of the shots. Overall, I was quite pleased with this gimbal, camera and lens setup, and thought the shots turned out well. This is the second of two videos in this series.
