RED EPIC-W 8K MACRO RED ANT LOOKING STOCK FOOTAGE
Description
A macro close up 8K RED Epic-W video of a red ant clinging to a piece of wood and appearing to look directly at the camera.
The Story
Whilst cleaning up the property in the Okanagan a rotting log split in two, exposing a group of red ants buried deep within. As luck would have it, the weather was cold, so they were rather lethargic. This allowed me the time to run off and grab my gear, and set up several shots before they scurried away. I had been looking for some interesting macro subjects to shoot – these red ants proved to be exactly what I was looking for. Although I wasn’t sure whether or not the Sigma 105mm macro stills lens would have the best resolving power for high resolution video, it was what I had at the time, so I mounted it onto a RED Epic-W and proceeded to shoot some video for my stock footage collection. The lens looks to have held up pretty well! I also had three extension tubes with me, which I used for some shots, cycling between using the lens by itself, and adding one, two, or all three of the tubes. This is the second of three videos in this series.
