The Story
With the number, and intensity, of forest fires in the Okanagan seemingly increasing with each year, there is little time to burn off the branches, dead trees and debris that accumulate throughout the spring and summer. Bark beetles kill plenty of pine trees in the area, and the fire bans mean we usually start our cleanup in the early fall and run, as time permits, throughout the winter and early spring. This kind of open fire, filled with logs, dry fir and pine tree needles make for a great visual, which I often like to shoot for stock footage. In this instance, I didn’t have a tripod, so I rested the RED camera on a log and steadied it with my hand, creating very slight movement.
